Another Place by Mats Ek

Ten years after Mikhail Baryshnikov and Ana Laguna’s iconic duet, Place, Mats Ek brings to life a second duet at the Paris Opera. Echoing the original duet, Another Place follows a couple as they navigate love, its impulses, its exhaustion, the emotional wear and tear, and the vulnerability of rekindling the flame of love. Set to Franz Liszt’s dramatic Sonata in B minor this piece is a dialogue between a couple that only Mats Ek knows how to portray. This duet also marked Stéphane Bullion’s final performance with the Paris Opera Ballet adding an extra layer of bittersweet love.
