Edward Gardner Conducts Elgar

In this all-Elgar concert from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal Conductor Edward Gardner explores the many sides of one of Britain's greatest composers through four of his most personal and powerful works. From the radiant Mediterranean energy of "In the South (Alassio)" to the aching tenderness of "Sospiri," this program showcases some of Elgar's most expressive works. The haunting beauty of "Sea Pictures," performed by acclaimed mezzo-soprano Beth Taylor, brings a windswept sense of longing, while the much-loved "Enigma Variation" offers a window into Elgar's private world of friendship and musical wit. A must-watch for fans of Elgar, romantic orchestral music, and world-class performances from the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
