Set in the sublime Art Nouveau surroundings of the Salle Poirel, this captivating performance showcases her unique ability to alternate between her own daring compositions and unexpected, genre-spanning covers from Kurt Weill to Sting. Behind her signature round glasses, Salvant commands the stage with a serious, deeply focused demeanor that highlights her incredible technical precision. Her powerful, organic, and highly theatrical voice glides smoothly from complex, ultra-rhythmic phrasing to the raw, late-night blues of Bessie Smith’s ""Saint Louis Gal"", complete with subtle slide guitar touches. Accompanied by a brilliant piano trio that perfectly mirrors her staggering vocal spectrum, this performance proves that her decade of global accolades was merely a warm-up act. Salvant treats the audience to a masterclass in vocal art, revealing a visionary creator who is just beginning to unfold her full artistic potential."
