Peter Rabbit leaps onto the stage as The Royal Ballet brings Beatrix Potter’s cherished characters to life at London’s Covent Garden. Adorned in spectacular costumes and masks that faithfully reflect the original illustrations, the dancers perform to a score woven from lively Victorian and Edwardian melodies. Frederick Ashton’s witty yet technically demanding choreography blends grace with playful exuberance, while Christine Edzard’s designs conjure a nostalgic England, complete with field mice, Berkshire black pigs, and shady groves. The entire cast delivers stellar performances—Joshua Tuifua captures Peter Rabbit’s boundless energy, Steven McRae brings flair to Squirrel Nutkin, and Ricardo Cervera perfectly embodies the mischievous Johnny Town-Mouse. Infrequently staged due to the dancers' challenging costumes, this whimsical classic is a true gem.
