Written by Nick Green, "Casey and Diana" is a powerful and deeply human drama that captures this pivotal moment in history. Moving from humor to heartbreak as patients, nurses, and volunteers navigate daily life under the shadow of illness, while a rebellious Princess quietly challenges public attitudes through her compassion. In 1991, as the AIDS crisis continued to devastate a generation, Toronto's Casey House prepared for an extraordinary visit from Diana, Princess of Wales. For the residents and caregivers of the hospice, her arrival became a rare moment of visibility, dignity, and hope in the face of fear, stigma, and loss. Celebrated for its emotional force and intimacy, the production premiered at the Stratford Festival in 2023 and has been hailed as "incredibly powerful." This is a play that honors courage, connection, and life stories
